Cool Sunday, Showers Ahead - NBC Bay Area

Cool Sunday, Showers Ahead

We'll finish of the weekend the same way it started...with a strengthening sea breeze into the afternoon and evening which will help insure our temps stay on the cool to mild side with 60s around the bay and some 70s for our inland valleys.A cold trough of low pressure will begin dropping into Northern California later on Monday, which will continue our onshore cool winds and increase cloud cover heading into Tuesday. As this system increases lift over the Bay Area, much cooler air aloft will begin moving in as well which will increase the chance for seeing some showers and possibly some thundershowers during the day Tuesday. Best chances will be higher elevation areas closer to the area of low pressure which will be the North and East Bay hills. Shower chances will end as the low scoots to the east on Wednesday with breezy conditions and cool temps lingering into Wednesday.High pressure will return for Thursday and into the start of Memorial Day weekend with highs returning to the 70s around the bay and upper 80s to low 90s in the valleys by next weekend.Enjoy your Sunday! - Rob Mayeda
