Cool Winter Sunshine Weekend

COOL WINTER SUNSHINEA cold trough of low pressure that kicked off showers and low snow levels is now moving east of the Sierra, allowing high pressure to begin building in from the west. We’ll see mainly clear skies today with north winds picking up some esp. near the hills into the afternoon. Even with the sun, our highs will feel cool with mid 50s to low 60s this weekend. With drier air in place, clear skies and light winds overnight – we could see some patchy frost/ice over the next few mornings. Gradually temperatures should warm as high pressure strengthens near the Bay Area into the middle of the new week. Highs will climb into the mid 60s as early as Wednesday in the warmest inland valleys. Unfortunately though we could use more rain and Sierra snow, it doesn’t appear likely during the next 7 days as high pressure holds strong across the state.Rob Mayeda
