There were also reports of hail on the peninsula, specifically Belmont around 1 p.m.
The morning started with heavy wind and rain for much of the Bay Area. There is still a chance of some thunderstorms, according to the NBC Bay Area weather department.
Forecasters say keep the umbrella handy for Wednesday and then "let the sun shine."
