Morning Mist, Warmer Valleys

We have another round of low clouds this morning with some drizzle in spots, but the marine layer depth is about 1,000 ft. thinner than the day before. This hints at high pressure strengthening above with warming air aloft that will help allow valley temps to climb 5-10 degrees warmer to wrap up the weekend with some low 90s possible well inland.MORE MONSOON MOISTURE AHEAD:As high pressure builds toward Northern California, moisture from the Desert Southwest will begin streaming westward around the western flank of the ridge, with variable mid-high level clouds moving across the region early in the week. While showers and a few thundershowers seem increasingly likely for the Sierra, it still remains to be seen if this may eventually include some of the coastal mountains as well around the Bay Area so stay tuned.- Rob Mayeda
