    Highway 9 south of Highway 35 in Santa Cruz County was shutdown in both directions Monday morning when a mudslide pushed debris onto the road, authorities said.

    The slide was reported at about 3:40 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

    CHP officials said Highway 9 in the vicinity of Waterman Gap reopened by about 5:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
