Rain on the Way This Weekend

The calendar shows its November, so we shouldn't be surprised that the forecast is cold and wet right?

It's going to be a rainy weekend here in the Bay Area. The NBC Bay Area weather department has been tracking two storms all week that are headed our way.

The first system will begin to bring showers Thursday night into Friday morning. It will linger into Saturday when a few thunderstorms are possible.

By Sunday, a second storm will slide across the area. This is a stronger, colder storm that will bring  more rain and stronger winds.

THURSDAY
:  Expect a chilly morning with temps ranging in the 40s inland to near 50 at the coast. As the day progresses, cloud cover will increase with the very first raindrops arriving overnight. Inland highs will reach near 70, Bayside near mid 60s and at the Coast lower 60s. Winds will begin to gust up to 20 - 30 mph, especially at the coast and at the hills.

FRIDAY:  Expect a soggy start to the day with widespread rain showers moving through in the morning. Showers will remain in place Friday with chilly temperatures. In fact, daytime highs will only reach the lower 60s inland, bayside near 60, and at the coast upper 50s. Winds will remain gusty with gusts up to 30 mph at times.

WEEKEND: Saturday morning a few lingering showers will still be around. By the afternoon, some sunshine is expected, which could fuel a few isolated areas of thunderstorms. By Sunday, another storm arrives and this will offer more rain and wind, and a drop in temps by 5 - 7 degrees. Along with rain, Sierra snow levels will lower to 6,000 ft where 3 - 6" of snow is expected by the end of the weekend.
