Rain is in the forecast for the Bay Area this week as a slow-moving storm system is expected to hit the region early Tuesday, a National Weather Service forecaster said.
The drizzle should begin before dawn and linger through the morning commute.
Rainfall totals will likely be highest in the North Bay and over the Coastal Mountains. Accumulations will likely range from .75" - 1.50" in the North Bay, and .50" - 1.25" in the East Bay and along the Peninsula, says NBC Bay Area meteorologist Christina Loren. She says the South Bay will see rainfall amounts range from .25" - .50" by Wednesday.
Another colder storm system is expected Thursday.
Lingering showers are possible Friday, which could impact the Giants Opening Day. The game won't be a rain out, but it could be a bit wet, according to the current forecast.
The good news is that the showers are expected to subside entirely by the weekend.
