Windy Weather Arrives

Look for mostly sunny skies and increasing northerly winds which will continue to lower humidity levels and bring some downslope warming to sea level locations today. Highs should be mainly in the mid to upper 70s today then climbing into the 80s inland and near the bay by Friday. As our dry and warmer conditions set in, a red flag warning is active by 6pm this evening for our hilltop locations above 1,000 feet and will continue until 6am Saturday morning. Things should turn especially gusty overnight as the pressure gradient steepens into Friday morning. Gusts above 45 mph are possible in the hills with N/NE winds 15-30 mph for lower elevations into Friday, good enough for some wind advisories. We should see decreasing wind and warming temps for Saturday with highs in the low to mid 80s around the bay and some upper 80s possible in the warmest valleys. Beach weather looks very nice as well with temps in the 70s to low 80s. As winds turn onshore again later Sunday this should lead to some cooling by early next week. Rob Mayeda
