Tom Hardy and “Potter” Director Yates May Tackle Al Capone

With his fantastic "Harry Potter" finale having been released into the wild, director David Yates is now contemplating his next move, possibly a project with Tom Hardy.

Hardy is attached to star as legendary gangster Al Capone in "Cicero," a script originally written for TV in back the '70s by Walon Green (the man who penned Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch"), which Yates is considering, according to Vulture.

The biggest stumbling block appears to be timing, as Hardy is scheduled to star in the "Mad Max" reboot "Fury Road," though Yates seems to believe he could get "Cicero" done before "Fury" starts shooting.

Yates is also considering an adaptation of Stephen King's apocalyptic saga "The Stand," with the possibility that he may tackle both it and "Cicero." And there's a hope/idea that both stories could be broken up into multiple films, which would keep Yates busy for the next several years.

We were so impressed by "Deathly Hallows Part 2" that regardless of which project Yates settles on, we'll happily give him at least a couple more hours of our time.

As for Hardy, his battle with Michael Fassbender for the title of Bohunkinest Super Star Male Actor Even Movie Snobs Love will be heating up fast. Sept. 30 he stars opposite Joel Edgerton in "Warrior," Nov. 18 it's "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" with Gary Oldman and Colin Firth, and then "This Means War" Feb. 17 with Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine.
