AT&T Fills Its Apple Void With the Kindle

Apple may not longer be an exclusive relationship with AT&T but that isn't stopping the cellular network from forming some new relationships of its own.

AT&T is moving on from Apple with one of the Cupertino-based company's biggest rivals: Amazon.

The Dallas-based cellular provider announced it will begin selling Amazon's Kindle device at more than 2,000 AT&T stores across the country.

The e-book readers will come with built in 3G technology that will be provided by AT&T. The move is just one example of the growing market for cellular providers out there.

AT&T and Verizon already sell 3G enabled netbook computers and both providers also sell 3G enabled Apple iPads.
