Apple Moves Towards Wristwatch Computer

Is Apple working on a wristwatch computer?  The Cupertino, Calif. company  is working on a wristwatch-like device with curved glass for use on the iOS platform, according to reports.

A wristwatch phone or computer isn't a new invention, especially since we think it first showed up in a Dick Tracy comic strip. There have also been a few Android phone watches developed in the last couple of years, including ones from Sony and Italian startup I'm Watch, so an iOS version in the works isn't surprising. So far the account comes from two unnamed sources, according to the New York Times.

The wearable iPhone or computer may be better now because Gorilla Glass has created bendable glass. Reports also say that it could have a 1.5-inch display and Bluetooth. And, according to Forrester analyst Sarah Rotman Epps, wearable computers are making the human body "a rich canvas for the computer."Gene Munster, analyst at Piper Jaffray, also said the wrist device would be well-suited for emerging markets.

Now that Google has come up with Google Glass, Apple must follow suit. After all, Apple is a hardware maker and it can't let Google and Android come up with a mainstream wearable computer without a rival.
