Injured Giants Celebrant Dies Of Head Trauma

Injured Giants fan dies from head injury.

A 37-year old man who was somehow injured during the celebration following the San Francisco Giants' win in the World Series has died, according to reports.

Sean Moffitt was partying in the Haight-Ashbury following the Giants' win on Oct. 28. He died two days later.

He told a roommate he'd been attacked by four men with a metal pipe, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. He then lost consciousness and was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died of head trauma.

Police did not interview Moffitt, and nobody reported an assault to police, the newspaper reported.

He was seen by police, injured, on Sunday night at Haight and Masonic streets but declined medical attention, according to police. He went to his apartment and slept, but when he awoke the next morning, his roommates said he "wasn't looking good," the newspaper reported.

Police are asking anyone with accounts of an assault to come forward.
