50th Annual Wildflower Show

600+ WILDFLOWER SPECIES: The numbers coming out of the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History are all on the large side. It's the 50th year for the area's annual Wildflower Show, which is indeed an impressive number, especially seeing as it concerns something as ephemeral as a delicate bud. Another impressive number? That over 600 different species will be on display at the three-day festival. Oh, and that's yet another impressive thing to note; the show stretches over a weekend and a day; it's on from Friday, April 15 through Sunday, April 17 at the museum. No mere daylong to-do will do when hundreds of distinct flora specimens are to be displayed.

OTHER DOINGS: The Wildflower Show isn't merely about putting out displays and examples of petals and such. Sketching classes, using plants as dye, and other courses that will appeal to DIYers as well as devoted naturalists. A ticket is $5.
