Aquarium-Style April Fools

Monterey Bay Aquarium's Facebook page goes prehistoric.

OKAY, OKAY, WE LOVE IT: We can all agree that examples of April Fools' Day mirthdom tend to run the gamut, with most jokes falling on the "eh" side of things. (Look, we don't mean to be a downer; just people should try a little and go for the clever rather than the easy. Agreed? All righty then.) But we're a little bit infatuated with the Monterey Bay Aquarium's April 1 Facebook page update. If you look at the top of the page you may spy aquarium visitors delighting over a gigantic Plesiosaurus, which, in fact, hasn't swum on earth since, oh, the Jurassic era.

Is there a Plesiosaurus actually at the aquarium? We encourage you to think that all April Fools' Day long; we certainly will. And even if there's not really one there -- spoiler alert --  you can still check out the new jellies exhibit, which just debuted on Saturday, March 31. C'mon, jelly fish are pretty April Fools-y, and they're totally real. That's cool, right?

Well done, MBA. Well done.
