Christmas at the Inns

A QUESTION: Is it always kind of sort of the holidays inside a classic bed and breakfast? It always feels a bit like Christmas, even if there aren't plaid bows on the mantel or a tree in the corner. Maybe it has to do with the throw pillows and the flower arrangements and the Victorian-sweet gables. So when the holidays actually do come around, and an inn dresses up, it is like Christmas time ten. Can you feel the velvet and glitter? We can. And several people will on Tuesday, Nov. 29 and Wednesday, Nov. 30. That's Christmas at the Inns time in Pacific Grove. Several inns in the inn-laden, water-close burg will open their doors to strolling merrymakers. It's convivial and Christmasy and launches the season in a sweet way.

COST: It's $20, and that's good for one of the nights (so choose which evening you want when you reserve). Ten inns in all will participate, and "light refreshments" will be served. We want mini quiches. We feel a bit disappointed if we're in an inn and not eating something quiche or quiche-like, actually. But a mini tart consumed in the vicinity of beautiful decorations mere days after Thanksgiving? Now that's a little slice of paradise.
