Celtic Sweetness Returns to Grass Valley

Dance, dream, and enjoy the traditional tunes of the KVMR Celtic Festival.

HOW TO PROPERLY START FALL? By sipping something with pumpkin and spice swirled through, such as a latte? By baking an apple pie? Or by attending an event that is rich with cultural gifts and traditional harmonies and soulful strings and the sort of songs that feel just right at the beginning of a fresh and fall-tastic season? You can do all of those things, of course, come late September, but to find the strings and harmonies and concert-amazing sounds that fit fall like apple slices atop a crust, you'll want to journey to glorious Grass Valley, where one of California's biggest annual cèilidhs will stomp and shine next to the tall trees of the Nevada County Fairgrounds. It's the...

CELTIC FESTIVAL, presented by KVMR, and it will draw around 6,000 people eager to have a little enchantment, of the aural and mystical and community-cool assortments, in their worlds. It's the 22nd annual festival, and the line-up over the 3-day run is as fine as a fiddle. Set to perform? The Elders, Heron Valley, Seamus Egan Project, and several other Celtic-sweet stars will be playing the sorts of tunes that tell old tales and heart-tugging yarns and the stories that hold hope for the future.

SEPT. 28 THROUGH 30... are the 2018 dates, so it is perfect for rounding off the month in merry fashion. Also merry? The other to-dos around the fairgrounds, including a large marketplace (think instruments, jewelry, art, more) and a place to brush up your Irish dancing skills (or learn them for the first time). Eager for tickets, times, where to stay, and what sets to see? Feel that fall magic early, and begin planning your Grass Valley adventure now.
