Prep Your Superhero Sweetie for PAWmicon

The just-before-Comic-Con cuteness will again raise a happy bark in San Diego.

"COSPLAY FOR A CAUSE"? You don't have to have the knack for leaping tall buildings or flying between planets to get behind such a notion. For dressing up as a superhero you love, or a character you feel close to, and lending your support for a great organization feels like quite the noble, hero-happy thing to do. And while there are several opportunities to do just that around California each year, one of the most squeeful 'n gleeful trots into San Diego each summertime, a few days before the opening of Comic-Con International. Nope, the Helen Woodward Animal Center fundraiser won't take place during planet's best-known pop culture convention, but it will happen, in 2019, at the future home of the upcoming Comic-Con Museum. That's worth raising a woof over, as is...

PAWMICON, the now-famous, forever-fursome, ever-adorable event that finds several Fidos rocking their best superhero outfits. For sure, their humans often get involved in the get-ups, too, and the group costumes tend to be terrific. Also terrific? You can buy your ticket now for the happy happening, which bark-barks on Sunday, July 7 in Balboa Park. It's ten bucks for the Cosplay Contest Entry, and a tenner for admission. "This fun event has one dynamic mission," states the online HQ for PAWmicon: "To inspire individuals to perform a superhero action of their own and adopt an orphan pet... these furry sidekicks will quickly reveal their own superhero abilities and save us right back." Is your Wonder Woman woofer ready to don her regal wear? Make for San Diego on the first Sunday of July 2019 with your superhero crew in tow.
