WINTER'S UNWINDING: Well. We do feel a bit melancholy when we hear of a good wine-try deal wrapping up. But if "winter" is in the title -- as it is for the Calistoga-based "Winter in the Wineries" deal -- then that tells us warmer days and longer days and go-out-ier days are straight ahead. And as long as there's still a bit of time to catch the deal, we won't be sad. It's running through Sunday, Feb. 6, and passport holders can try the liquidy wares of some 16 Calistoga-close vineyards.
ON THE LIST: Jericho Canyon, Tudal Winery, and Twomey Cellars. There are also some restaurant discounts in the mix, too. A passport is $50. One final weekend, to raise a glass to winter, and bid it quickly on its way.
