AEG Oakland Community Foundation Scholarship

The AEG Oakland Community Foundation today announced the opening of the application period for its Scholarship Program. The program, which is in its fourth year, will provide three graduating high school seniors or community college transfer students in Alameda County with $10,000 for the 2018-2019 academic year. Additionally, the AEG Oakland Community Advisory Board will assist scholarship awardees with internship placement in their field of choice, where available. 
“This program is a tremendous opportunity for outstanding students in their communities,” said Chris Wright, General Manager of Oracle Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. “With this scholarship, we’ve been able to provide low-income students the ability to pursue their career goals in addition to providing guidance to help prepare them for successful futures. The incredible success of past scholarship recipients has been a testament to how important this program is.”
This need-based scholarship targets students matriculating into a 4-year university from high school or community college. Students applying for this scholarship must demonstrate a level of academic success in addition to financial need in order to be considered. As a non-profit organization, the AEG Oakland Community Foundation is focused on improving the lives of children and families across Alameda County. The foundation is committed to advancing education and bringing awareness to the wealth of careers within sports and entertainment.
