MLK Jr.Volunteer Day at Alameda County Community Food Bank

Volunteer on MLK Jr Day at Alameda County Community Food Bank

“No individual or nation can be great if it does not have a concern for ‘the least of these.’” To honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Americans are asked to make Jan. 16 a “day on, not a day off.” Join the Alameda County Community Food Bank as we make a difference for the 1 in 6 residents of Alameda County who rely on the Food Bank. Sort and package non-perishable staples and fresh produce, and learn more about how you can support our long-term solutions for families facing hunger in our community.

The Food Bank is also hosting an on-site food drive! Bring non-perishable staples like canned tuna, peanut butter, beans and rice, canned vegetables and fruit, low-sugar cereal and low-salt soups and stews to the Food Bank for families in need. Friendly volunteers will be on hand to collect donations at the Food Bank that day! Name of Event: Martin Luther King Day of Service at the Alameda County Community Food Bank
