San Francisco Bay would not exist as the beautiful natural treasure it is today without Save The Bay. This year, we celebrate 50 years of halting massive bayfill and dumping, restoring wetlands and engaging the community to save the Bay. With the celebration of this milestone, Save The Bay would like to invite you out for a day of weeding followed by lunch. This urban area includes some of the last remaining wetland habitat in the East Bay, including 50 acre Arrowhead Marsh, and provides a home for many species, including the California Clapper Rail and Burrowing Owls. Since 2000, we have been working with the help of East Bay Regional Park District, local schools, community groups, non-profit organizations, and corporations to revegetate salt marsh habitat through planting native wetland plants and removing non-native invasive species. Tee shirts will be provided so please list your shirt size in the comments when you register.
