Carrie's Story

There is no shortage of inspiring adoption stories from the animal shelters around the Bay Area and those who adopt from them, including Carrie's story!

Carrie, a Pit Bull mix, was brought into the East Bay SPCA after being hit by a car and left on the highway. She was then cared for by the great workers at the facility and made a full recovery!

Her new owners from Oakland have fallen head over heels for her. She gets along great with their other dog, who is a Great Dane/Mastiff mix, and the two heavyweights love roughhousing together. She seems to have found a perfect family to live her life with, in spite of it nearly being cut so short.

This is just one of the great second chance stories that originate with an animal shelter adoption. Find your own best friend and be a part of your own story by visiting a shelter near you!

Next Saturday, August 19, many shelters across the Bay Area and across the country are participating in the annual Clear the Shelters event! Adoption fees are reduced or waived in order to get as many pets as possible intoto loving homes.
