Come support Asian heritage at the Nihonmachi Street Fair in Japantown in San Francisco on August 1 and 2. This is the 42nd year celebration of this event which highlights Asian Pacific American life. There will be art, music, food and community outreach and service at this event.
On Sunday, August 2, from 11am - 2pm at the Clear Channel Cultural Stage, premier performance of “1945: A Year of Infamy” with Anthony Brown's Asian American Orchestra, Voices Of A Dream, a Gospel ensemble led by Amikaeyla, and Genny Lim, poet/performance.
There will be fun activities for the entire family to enjoy. Kids will have the opportunity to participate in Asian-inspired crafts and fun games At Children’s World presented by the SF Nikkei Lions. Also, the event will feature talented Asian Artisians from across the Bay Area. They will create a variety of traditional raku ceramics, bonsai, Hawaiian inspired beef jerky and much more.
In addition, the event will feature up and coming Asian and Pacific American performing artists from the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Also, the 2nd annual Sounds of Thunder Car Show and Adult Co-Ed Basketball Tournament will take place.
