This year the SF-Marin Food Bank is celebrating their 30th anniversary. What started as a small operation grew in to a necessity the city by the Bay is thankful for. Thirty years ago, they were serving 8,300 participants and today they serve over 225,000 individuals a year in San Francisco and Marin.
In efforts to end hunger, they are holding a fundraiser One Big Table, on September 16th and will be honoring Food Banker Gary Maxworthy, founder of Farm to Family, a fresh produce initiative that is now distributing 180 million pounds of fruits and vegetables to Californians each year.
One Big Table will feature the talents of 20 chefs including Tyler Florence of Wayfare Tavern in San Francisco. Also an opportunity to bid during a live auction on unique packages for one of a kind experiences.
