The San Jose State Marketing Association partnered with Our City Forest, a local San Jose community organization, in planting and harvesting trees at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds last Saturday.
Our City Forest is a non-profit organization with the objective to make Santa Clara County a place where family and friends can come together and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Silicon Valley trees. Marketing Association members who volunteered, alongside 120 other volunteers, planted 40 trees during the event.
"It was a very unique experience," said sophomore Marketing Association member Jennifer Ou. "It was great being able to contribute to the community I live in."
The organization allows for any volunteers to join in planting on most Saturday mornings, along with various other opportunities throughout the work week.
"We encourage volunteers to come join us every Saturday in making Santa Clara County a more welcoming area for family and friends to come and explore," says Our City Forest Community Director Ariel Schindler.
