The Believe in Yourself Project is a non-profit charity organization dedicated to providing brand-new, unworn designer dresses for girls to wear at school functions. Many teen girls are up against unattainable social standards placed upon them which are not just unhealthy but oftentimes unaffordable. In an effort to close this gap, the Believe in Yourself Project is dedicated to the gainful advancement and empowerment of young women with a gift of confidence.
The organization has provided dresses for girls to wear to school dances and similar events in various states.
It is the belief of the organization and its founder, Sam Sisakhti, that every young woman should feel confident regardless of her physicalities or financial circumstance. The Believe in Yourself Project seeks to revolutionize and reverse some of the negative present-day messages into one of positivity and encouragement so that all girls may believe in themselves.
The Believe in Yourself Project goes into community centers, after-school programs and low-income housing centers and provides designer dresses for underprivileged girls to wear at upcoming school dances. At the same time, the organization promotes positive body image through mentoring and speakers.
Believe in Yourself is part of a broader initiative. The organization is currently working with various influential women who at one time or another have overcome adversity, encouraging them to serve as speakers and mentors to the girls within the program. The aim is to promote positive body image and healthy self-esteem at an early age and empower young girls to take on active social roles in their communities.
