The science fair is sponsored by the Synopsys Silicon Valley Science & Technology Outreach Foundation, and is open to students grade 9-12 from the East Side Union High School District in San Jose. Over the years, thousands of students from the East Side Union High School District have participated – many each year go on to participate in the Synopsys Championship, as well as the state and international competitions.

Sciencepalooza gives students the opportunity to interact with STEM scientists and professionals and allows them to practice a practical implementation of their mathematical, statistical, scientific, logic and literacy learnings outside of the classroom.
