24th Annual KIDS OCEAN DAY.

Bringing San Francisco-area students to the beach puts them in touch with nature, while challenging them to recycle, reduce litter and participate in cleaning up their environment.  For many of the young people, KIDS OCEAN DAY is their first time at the ocean.  The wonder and beauty of the coast, combined with a mission to protect the natural world, is a profound experience.

The KIDS OCEAN DAY Adopt-A-Beach Clean Up is organized locally by the Marine Science Institute, a not for profit environmental educational  organization. The KIDS OCEAN DAY program was created in 1994 by the Malibu Foundation for Environmental Education.  The Coastal Commission coordinates the program statewide and provides financial support from the Whale Tail License Plate Fund.
