Dandan Performing Arts Center on Asian Pacific America

Asian Pacific America with Robert Handa: Program Director John Dandan and Co-Founder James Richard discuss a vision of delivering high-quality contemporary music and arts education for all. (Published Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018)

The Dandan Performing Arts Center would like to extend you a warm welcome to listen and encourage you to share your talents with the friendly community as they celebrate the power of music during an open jam session led by artists in the music industry.

The Dandan Performing Arts Center is a nonprofit organization that provides equal access to high-quality contemporary music and arts education from toddlers to adults in the communities of San Lorenzo and the surrounding cities.

The arts surround us. However, music and arts are not available to everyone often times due to socio-economic constraints. The opportunity to be immersed in a rich musical environment where an individual can develop themselves to become creative thought leaders of our society are only available to those who can afford them.

Musicians and staff at Dandan Performing Arts Center believe that the arts should be celebrated within our communities and made accessible to all, regardless of their means. They created a holistic program in response to the lack of accessibility to high-quality contemporary music and arts education in the East Bay Area.

Appreciation for the arts is oftentimes missing in today's education system and also in young people's lives. The Dandan Performing Arts Center strives to inspire, educate and empower the youth to become creative thought leaders of tomorrow.
