Santa Clara County Sheriff Search & Rescue Academy 2016

Did you know that the all-volunteer members of the Santa Clara County Sheriff Search and Rescue team are on call and available to help in the community, 24 hours a day, seven days a week in rain, snow or heat of the night?

The Santa Clara County Sheriff Search and Rescue team is seeking for qualified volunteers and invites the community to its 2016 annual Academy beginning August 18th.

The SCCSSAR team offers an academy once per year, starting in August and ending in October. The purpose of the academy is to instruct prospective team members in the skills and techniques necessary to work as a basic team member.

The academy covers search tactics, rope rescue, navigation and other topics.

The academy will be held weekly on a weekday evening from 6:30-9:30pm and on several weekend days. A precise calendar will be provided to all prospective attendees.
