Tackling the Odds Charity Golf Tournament

Work toward enhancing the livelihoods of at-risk youth throughout the Bay Area at the 1st Annual Tackling the Odds Charity Golf Tournament. Register now for the Monday, September 29th Golf Tournament at Oakhurst Country Club. Funds raised through the golf tournament and auction will go towards the Tackling The Odds scholarship program, the inspirational speaker series, community outreach programs, and sports programs.

Participation, donations and sponsorships at the 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament will open more doors for Tackling The Odds to engage young hearts and minds. Tackling The Odds and the children who are served by the non-profit will cherish all donations immensely.

Founder of Tackling The Odds, Sam Williams, a former Oakland Raider and Bay Area native strives to give back to the community that raised him. Williams was inspired to establish his non-profit in 2009 following the passing of his close friend and teammate Marquis Cooper. Cooper, who along with Williams shared a passion for community engagement, devoted many hours to working with underserved youth during his tenure as an Oakland Raider. Tackling The Odds provided a way to honor Marquis’ legacy by mentoring the Bay Area's children raised in troubled environments. The children who are dealing with loss, violence, exposure to drugs and abuse will soon be responsible for our future. Tackling the Odds is committed to providing these kids with threads of hope and opportunities.
