The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will be hosting an event showcasing the works of Patti Hirahara and her family. Her grandfather, George Hirahara, built a secret darkroom under their barracks in Heart Mountain, Wyoming internment camp. “Close-ups of Time Forgotten: The WSU Hirahara Photos Created in a Secret World War II Underground Darkroom” with Patti Hirahara will present the family's many great and celebrated photographs.
The program will be hosted in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home on Thursday, October 12. Attendees are invited to view the Roosevelt Library's new special exhibit, "Images of Internment: The Incarceration of Japanese Americans During World War II" free of charge, following the program.
