The San Francisco Nike Women's Half Marathon to Benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training will be participating in the San Francisco Nike Women’s Half Marathon this year on October 19, 2014. Team in Training, or TNT, was started in 1988 by Bruce Cleland who assembled a team of 38 marathon runners in New York City to raise money in honor of his daughter, a leukemia survivor. That team raised $322,000 for LLS, and for the next 25 years, TNT grew to become the leader in endurance sport training for charity. Since 1988, TNT has raised over $1.4 billion to support LLS’s research and patient services programs. Nike and TNT have been partners in the fight against cancer since 2004, raising over $147.9 million together through the Nike Women’s Marathons across the country.

The San Francisco Nike Women’s Half Marathon is an annually sold-out race. Runners from all over the world come to the beautiful city by the bay to run a unique 13 mile course. This year alone, there will be approximately 25,000 runners and walkers participating. You can register with Team in Training to participate in the half marathon and help raise money for a wonderful cause.
