Formed in the early 1960s, the Maytals are one of the best-known ska and rocksteady vocal groups and record holder for most number-one songs in Jamaica. Originally a ska, rocksteady group, Toots & The Maytals actually dubbed the genre with their 1968 hit “Do the Raggay.”
