Outside Lands has planned four offshoot food and music events in July, with the first one kicking off on Friday and all leading up to the big festival in Golden Gate Park on August 7-9.
The annual summer pairings series starts with a Friday performance by experimental string band The Rusty String Express with food from Japanese drinking snack purveyor Nombe Izakaya at San Francisco's Bluxome Street Winery; tickets are available online and at the door for $25.
On Sunday, Long Meadow Ranch in St. Helena will host a preview of Outside Lands' "Cheese Lands" set to tunes by bluegrass act The Travelin' McCourys. Tickets are $35 in advance online and $45 at the door.
San Francisco restaurant La Urbana hosts a dinner inspired by the flavors of Mexico City in conjunction 21st Amendment Brewery on July 22. Space is limited for the meal and costs $45; call La Urbana at (415) 440-4500 to reserve.
The series includes one weeklong special as a bonus beat: Desserts from the Crème Brûlée Cart will be available at Proposition Chicken in San Francisco from July 20-26. Proposition Chicken will also be playing music from acts scheduled to perform at Outside Lands.
As for Outside Lands the main event, that's completely sold out.
