Rapper Lil B Hosts New Years Eve Party in San Francisco

Lil B will host his own rare New Years Eve event in San Francisco.

The Berkeley-born rapper, Internet cult figure and Warriors superfan will take over the city's Regency Ballroom to ring in 2016. The night is billed as "Lil B & Friends" but additional guests have yet to be announced.

Tickets ($55) go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday.

Some believe that Lil B had magical sway when it came to a Golden State Warriors win against the Houston Rockets in May. His well-publicized curse against Rockets star James Harden for appropriating the "cooking dance" he says he invented was thought to be a secret asset in defeating Houston. Rap-savvy Warriors created photo memes with Lil B's Internet-famous "thank you Based God" phrase in appreciation of the hex.

In 2012, he tried out for the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Golden State Warriors' D-League team. Two years later, he released "Hoop Dreams," a basketball-themed mixtape that featured a song and video called "Gotta Make the NBA."
