Submissions Sought for Bill Murray Art Show in San Francisco

Submit to (an art show honoring) Bill Murray.

Bill Murray is many things to many people. But is he art?

For one night in San Francisco, the answer is absolutely.

The legendary comedic actor is the centerpiece of the "Murray Affair," a one-night event scheduled Aug. 8 at Public Works in San Francisco, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

And just what is a Murray Affair?

Let's be serious here: nobody really knows. But if we had to guess, we'd say it's a mixture, an amalgam -- a little video, some paintings, a sketch or two attempting to explain the "Groundhog Day," "Ghostbusters," "Scrooged" and -- of course -- "Space Jam" star's pull on us all.

The organizer is Ezra Croft, who also put together a similar Public Works' homage to Nicolas Cage.

Croft is looking for artists to submit their efforts for display at the show. Tickets are $12 to $15, the newspaper reported, and can be purchased online.

And given the actor's famous penchant to appear at events ranging from bachelor parties to Brooklyn keg-gatherings, perhaps Murray himself will attend.
