Maybe it sounds better in the original Italian.
Elisabetta Canalis, the model and former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant, spoke openly about her relationship with A-list actor George Clooney in Italian journalist Bruno Vespa's new book "This Love." Surprisingly and somewhat shockingly, she describes their time together as "more of a father-daughter relationship."
Canalis, who split with Clooney last June, attempted to clairfy this unsual statement by explaining that Clooney "valued [her] feminine side the most" and "has been special for me, and very important, just as a father would be."
The 33-year-old also went on to quell rumors that her break-up with the 50-year-old "Ides of March" star had something to do with her wanting to get married and start a family.
"George and I never spoke of marriage nor of having kids," she says. "I don't put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor I had ever envisaged having kids together. The end of the relationship was not caused by a marriage issue, but instead by our personal needs."
Clooney has recently been linked with another former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant, model and former WWE personality Stacy Keibler.
