Oprah Fires Back at Chris Brown

"[Oprah] hopes he gets the counseling he needs."

Chris Brown, the R&B singer who’s become more famous for his right hook than his song lyrics, is now taking a beating from the most powerful woman in showbiz.

Oprah Winfrey thinks Brown needs help. Brown thinks Oprah is ungrateful.

Let the battle begin.

Background: Brown made a few statements in the current issue of People Magazine claiming that Oprah didn’t give him a fair shake when she aired an episode on domestic violence that was pinned to his February fight with Rihanna.

During the episode Oprah said: "If you go back with a man who hits you, it's because you don't think you're worthy of being with a man who won't. I've said before love doesn't hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again."

Brown took that as a stab at him. He fired back this week.

"I commend Oprah on being like, 'This is a problem,' but it was a slap in my face," Brown said of the show. "I did a lot of stuff for her, like going to Africa and performing for her school. She could've been more helpful, like, 'OK, I'm going to help both of these people out.'"

Turns out, Oprah’s not feeling all that remorseful about the segment, which ran in March and was “dedicated to all the Rihanna’s of the world.”

She had a rep issue a statement to the press.

"Oprah is very appreciative that Chris Brown performed at her school, but she takes domestic abuse very seriously. She hopes he gets the counseling he needs."

Take that!

Brown, who has been on a bit of a media tour since being convicted for assault, also told People that he still loves Rihanna and staying away from her for five years, as ordered by the court will be tough.

“That might have been a little harsh. She knows me, and I know her more than anybody. It’s hard.”
