BOO! Ellen Sends Executive Producer Andy Lassner to Universal's Hollywood Horror Nights

Member's of Ellen's crew wade through dark rooms at Universal Hollywood Horror Nights.

“Just know it’s coming, and then it’s not scary,” says Andy Lassner, executive producer at the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

He and his assistant Jacqueline Nelson wade through dark rooms at Universal Hollywood Horror Nights, where ghosts and ghouls haunt the scene. Suddenly, a head pops out of hiding, and Andy jumps back screaming. “Okay it’s scary,” he concedes, after catching his breath.

Every year in honor of Halloween, DeGeneres sends Lassner to a haunted house and films him as he freaks out over the scare-fest. As the self-proclaimed “village idiot” of the show, Lassner tends to jump out of his skin, screaming his fair share of expletives. In a video segment on Thursday, he spends most of his time hiding behind Nelson.

Emerging from the haunted house, after many, many near heart attacks, he looks exhausted but relieved. “To me, I don’t enjoy it,” he says.

“No, I’m sweating,” Nelson agrees.

But it’s all in good fun, which Lassner seems to know when he closes the video with a big smile.
