Bradley Cooper Producing Miniseries on ISIS for HBO

The Academy Award nominee will serve as an executive producer of a miniseries based on the nonfiction book "Black Flags: The Rise Of ISIS."

HBO has enlisted actor Bradley Cooper to help produce a miniseries on the birth of ISIS, NBC News reported.

The Academy Award nominee will serve as an executive producer of a miniseries based on the book "Black Flags: The Rise Of ISIS" by Washington Post reporter Joby Warrick.

Warrick won a Pulitzer Prize earlier this year for the nonfiction work. Through interviews with CIA, Jordanian Intelligence officials, politicians and terrorists, Warrick recounts how terrorist masterminds and mistakes in Washington spanning more then a decade, led to the rise of the terror group.

Cooper read the book and believed it would work as a limited series, according to Deadline. He met with Warrick, and the two pitched the idea to HBO.

A title or airdate for the project hasn't been announced.
