D'Angelo Cancels Chicago Concert For “Medical Emergency”

Shows also canceled in Minneapolis, Baltimore and San Diego

D’Angelo canceled his Wednesday night concert at House of Blues in Chicago because of a "medical emergency.”

A House of Blues executive told the Chicago Tribune D’Angelo's condition is apparently serious but he should be OK.

The show was scheduled for 9 p.m. General admission tickets cost $85.

Live Nation promoters said in a statement to the Tribune that D’Angelo expresses his sincere regret for the cancelation. He also canceled shows in Minneapolis, Baltimore and San Diego.

Fans posted well-wishes on the singer's Facebook page after his appearance at the Merriweather Post Pavilion was canceled with rumors he was in the hospital.

"Unfortunately D'Angelo is ill, in the hospital and won't be performing tonight," the Merriweather Post Pavilion posted on Facebook. "Our thoughts are with him. Raheem Devaughn will join the bill with Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes, Rare Essence and the rest."

Details of his current condition aren't known.
