Gwen Stefani Returning to “The Voice” for Season 9

She's ain't no hollerback girl, but Gwen Stefani will be back as a coach on "The Voice." NBC announced Stefani, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams will take seats in the big red chairs for the upcoming season nine. Carson Daly will once again return to host the show.

"I'm coming back and am so excited! I can't believe I get to return to 'The Voice,'" Stefani said in a statement. "It's so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I'm looking forward to working again with Adam, Blake and Pharrell. I love those guys."

Levine and Shelton have been with the show since it began in 2011. Season nine will be Williams' third season, he joined the show with Stefani in season seven. Stefani sat out season eight when Christina Aguilera returned to "The Voice." Season nine is set to premiere on NBC in September.

"With such an astounding group of coaches at the peak of their musical ingenuity and Carson returning as our host, we are thrilled for what season nine will bring," Paul Telegdy, president, of alternative and late night programming at NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. "The expertise and camaraderie of this panel will provide an immeasurable experience for the artists and must-see entertainment for all who are watching."

Levine praised his "Voice" family in a statement. "I can't believe we're already on the ninth season," he said. "Time after time, coming back, it honestly feels like the first day of school. It's become a second family for me and I'm always so excited to come back to it."

Meanwhile, Shelton is already gearing up for the competition. "Adam, Gwen, Pharrell and I had a blast together in season seven and I'm excited we're back together again. They are all so talented but I'm pretty damn excited about another winning season for Team Blake," he said in a statement.

There was no grandstanding from Williams. "I am grateful to have a role on the show among such an incredible group of great people and am looking forward to another season of talented artists."

"The Voice" will air on Mondays and Tuesdays this fall on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
