Kylie Jenner’s most recent Instagram post with Travis Scott has come under fire by an advocacy organization for people with disabilities.
Jenner was condemned by both social media users and disability inclusion group The Ruderman Family Foundation after she posted an Instagram post with beau Travis Scott showing the couple parked in a spot that appears to be clearly reserved for people with disabilities.
The motor vehicle violation did not go unnoticed in the comments section of Jenner's Instagram post.
"Parking in a handicapped spot? Really? I hope you got a ticket," wrote one commenter.
Another added, "It doesn’t surprise me they are parking in a handicap parking space because she’s a billionaire and thinks she can do anything she wants. Is it only a parking ticket to park in handicap? I’m on disability and it’s so important that people who do not have a permit to park in handicap do not out of respect for us who are handicap and need it! Kylie, you should know better!"
The president of the Ruderman Family Foundation, which advocates for the inclusion of individuals with disabilities, spoke out about the need to raise awareness when celebrity faux pas like these occur.
“This is an opportunity for Kylie Jenner to use her celebrity status to help society understand why accessible parking is a basic right for people with disabilities that facilitates inclusion in daily life,” said Jay Ruderman.
Ruderman also tweeted at the pair asking them to “raise awareness for the importance of inclusion of people with disabilities in our society” and to “always keep their needs in mind."
This isn't the first time Jenner has come under fire for this sort of blunder. In 2015, she was criticized for appearing on the cover of Interview magazine in a wheelchair.
