Jesse Jackson, Sr. Takes Aim At “Duck Dynasty”

The Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr.'s Rainbow PUSH Coalition has entered the fray surrounding comments made by "Duck Dynasty" star Phil Robertson.

Robertson has been under fire for anti-gay remarks he made in an interview with GQ, in which he grouped homosexuality in with bestiality as deviant behavior.

In a Tuesday news release, Jackson highlights Robertson's comments about homosexuality, but also zeroes in on his statements black people being happy under Jim Crow laws.

"At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law," Jackson said in the news release. "Robertson's statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was 'white privilege,'"

Jackson, along with GLAAD and NOW are demanding a meeting within 72 hours with the CEOs of Cracker Barrel and the A&E Networks.
