Pope Francis to Release Rock Album in November

The Holy See should be called the Holy Sing: Pope Francis will release a pop-rock album this November.

"Wake Up!" features eleven tracks of excerpts from Francis' famous speeches to various uplifting tracks, Rolling Stone reported. It will be released by Believe Digital.

In the debut song, "Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!," the pope addresses a South Korean audience in English to musical accompaniment. Other tracks are in Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Pope Francis isn't the first pope to have his words put to music. Album producer and artistic director, Don Giulio Neroni, told Rolling Stone, that he's worked with Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI in the past.

According to Neroni's discography, he worked on "Alma Mater: Music from the Vatican" with Benedict XVI, and "Abba Pater" and "Santo Subito!" with John Paul II.

News of the new album comes as Francis is halfway through his first trip to the United States. The six-day journey features stops in Washington, D.C., New York and Philadelphia.

"Wake Up!" will be released on Nov. 27, though preorders are available from iTunes.
