Anderson Cooper: ‘Stories About Me Adopting A Baby Are Completely False'

The Enquirer printed the claims earlier this week

Anderson Cooper is not becoming a father to a Haitian orphan, the CNN host announced on his Twitter page.

"While the plight of children in Haiti has touched us all, stories about me adopting a baby are completely false," he Tweeted in response to a story in the National Enquirer that claimed otherwise earlier this week.

The silver-haired star has covered the earthquake crisis in Haiti from the field in the island nation itself, appearing on the "Hope For Haiti Now" telethon as well as reporting for his own "Anderson Cooper 360."

The Enquirer also claimed that Anderson and his reported boyfriend, Ben Maisani, would raise the baby. The newsman did not address his romantic status on his Twitter page and remains silent on his much-discussed sexual orientation, which has been persistently questioned by publications including Gawker and Out magazine.

In 2007, the mag ranked Anderson at No. 2 in its "50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America" issue and placed a cut-out of his face next to Jodie Foster's on the cover with the headline, "The Glass Closet."
