Hasselhoff on Howie Mandel Taking His Seat On “America's Got Talent”

Ex-Baywatch star leaves for A&E reality show

David Hasselhoff has no regrets about leaving "America's Got Talent."

And on Wednesday night's "Pee-Wee Herman Show" red carpet in Los Angeles, the Hoff said he has fond memories of the NBC reality program, but it was time to move on.

"I'm gonna miss it….but it just it takes up the whole year," David told AccessHollywood.com.

Recently, it was revealed that Howie Mandel will take Hasselhoff's seat on the "America's Got Talent" panel alongside Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne, a move David is totally behind.

"Howie's a great replacement," David told Access. "He's already Twittered me and he said 'I'm gonna watch the show,' and I wrote back, 'You be the judge.'"

While David won't be judging a reality competition any more, he'll be helping out budding young talents of a more familiar kind – his daughters Taylor Ann, 19, and Hayley, 17, as the two try to break out as singers. The experience will be documented for a reality series for A&E, which is currently untitled.

"Our show is about me and my sister, our band and our career together and just our life," Hayley told Access at the Pee-Wee event. "It's just to prove all the tabloids wrong basically."

And David said he's excited to be able to help out his girls.

"You know, they've always wanted to be singers and there comes a time in… life when you become a parent and you say, 'Maybe I can help,'" David said.

The Hoff said the family's new show was inspired by two reality projects they did for the U.K. – a filmed road trip and a series called "Meet The Hasselhoffs."

"It was fun, we had a lot of fun," he said of the British reality show experiences. " I didn't know if reality could be fun. It's fun when you can do good deeds and we can kind of explore how we're gonna try to get [my daughters] to where they want to go. They're ready, they can sing."
