Justin Bieber Gets Animated on “The Simpsons”

The pop singer is taking his swagga to the longest-running cartoon in television history.

Bieber Fever is about to hit Springfield.

Justin Bieber let his 27 million Twitter followers in on a little secret yesterday: he's going to be appearing on "The Simpsons."

"Just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy," the 18-year-old heartthrob tweeted before later deleting it.

A publicist for the long-running Fox 'toon confirmed his appearance to E! News but had no further comment.

"Simpsons" executive producer Al Jean however elaborated to Entertainment Weekly that the "Boyfriend" singer will be playing himself alongside Homer and the gang in a future episode titled "The Fabulous Faker Boy" that, natch, involves music.

"He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won't admit him," said Jean before quipping, "Draw your own conclusions."

The producer cautioned Beliebers not to expect too much of the teen idol.

"It's a cameo," Jean noted, adding "but all of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he's on."

Fox has yet to announce an exact air date for Bieber's "Simpsons" episode, but it's expected to air sometime in 2013.

Meanwhile, America's favorite four-fingered family is scheduled to kick off their record 24th(!) season on Sept. 30. Besides Justin, other celebs due to guest star on "The Simpsons" this season include Natalie Portman, Edward Norton, Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathaway, Max Weinberg, and Steve Carell.
