Superhero Hopefuls Converge on Emeryville

"Marvel Live" Superhero Auditions Held in Emeryville

Think you have what it takes to become the next superhero? Bob Redell reports. (Published Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014)

Not rain nor sleet nor Magneto will keep the superheroes away.

Would-be Marvel men and women converged on Emeryville Thursday, strutting their stuff to prove they have what it takes to earn a place on the Marvel Universe Live! stunt show tour.

Men and women with skills in parkour, trick skateboarding, motorcycle riding and various martial arts took to the Athletic Playground in Emeryville in an attempt to earn a 12-month contract as a superhero.

No costumes required – this is all real-life stunts.

Those powerful enough to prove they can be a superhero get to go on tour with the troupe. The tour includes a stop at the SAP Center in San Jose, March 20-22.
